Bashir Ahmad Defends Peter Obi Against Claims Over Nigeria’s 1966 Coup
APC chieftain Bashir Ahmad has said Peter Obi should not be blamed for the actions of those involved in Nigeria’s 1966 coup. Ahmad said no one should be judged or held responsible for the wrongdoing of others because of their identity or background. His comments followed Obi’s Arise TV interview, in which the former Labour Party presidential candidate said some people in the North may still hold resentment over the killing of Ahmadu Bello during the 1966 coup.
