36-Year-Old Man Charged with Assaulting EKEDC Worker in Lagos
A 36-year-old man, Kennedy Mburuche, appeared today before Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on allegations of assaulting an Eko Electricity Distribution Company employee. He pleaded not guilty to two counts of assault and breach of peace. The prosecution said the incident occurred on April 22 at James Oyelekan Street in Ilogbo, Ajangbadi. Mburuche is accused of attacking staff member Mudashiru Yusuf with a broken bottle and stone, and threatening his life, violating sections 168 and 172 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015. Magistrate O.M. Ogun granted bail of N200,000 with one surety in like sum. The case has been adjourned to June 15 for mention.
