Tinubu to Chair Africa Critical Minerals Summit in New York
President Bola Tinubu will chair the Third High-Level Roundtable on Critical Minerals Development in Africa in New York on September 21, 2026. The meeting will take place on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly. It is expected to bring together African leaders, ministers, investors, development finance institutions and executives from mining, technology and logistics firms. The summit will focus on how African countries can gain greater value from critical minerals used in electric vehicles, renewable energy, artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure and defence technologies. Its theme is “From Resources to Wealth: Continental Cooperation for Mineral Value Addition.”
