Nigeria’s FX Supply Rose 20.5% to $8.94 Billion in 2025, CBN Data Shows
Nigeria’s foreign exchange supply rose by 20.5% to $8.94 billion in 2025, compared with $7.43 billion in 2024, according to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s statistical bulletin. Supply began the year below $610 million in January and February, then rose to $1.04 billion in March and peaked at $1.65 billion in April. It later fell to a yearly low of $150.10 million in October before recovering to $910.73 million in December. Total FX inflows increased by 13.81% to $109.86 billion, while outflows rose faster, by 27.83%, to $49.05 billion. Nigeria still recorded a net FX inflow of $60.81 billion, up from $58.16 billion in 2024. The CBN did not provide a detailed breakdown of the sources of the $8.94 billion supplied during the year. The figures come as efforts to improve FX liquidity continue amid market volatility in 2026.
