President Tinubu says he instructed FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to build roads and infrastructure for the 3,112-unit Renewed Hope City in Karsana before residents moved in. Speaking through Senate President Godswill Akpabio at the commissioning of the 10.5-kilometre access roads, Tinubu warned that housing without access is like a blueprint without a building. Wike set the pace and delivered arterial roads N11, N16, N40 and Special Local Street 03. These links now connect Karsana West to the Outer Northern Expressway, making thousands of homes accessible and secure. Tinubu praised Wike, the contractor and FCT officials for prompt delivery and quality work. He also assured that contractors will be paid quickly. Minister of State Mariya Mahmoud said the roads will boost economic activity and improve affordable housing access.

Building 10.5km of roads is impressive, but it's unclear if supporting utilities like water and power will keep pace in Renewed Hope City.

Focusing solely on roads feels shortsighted when housing units and social amenities still need urgent completion before people move in.

Local contractors should partner with FCT ministry to ensure timely utility hookups and maintenance along the new access roads.
