Russian Strikes Leave 600,000 Ukrainians Without Power
Russian missile and drone strikes killed 10 people in Kyiv and Lutsk and damaged energy infrastructure in Kyiv and Kharkiv, Ukrainian authorities said. President Volodymyr Zelensky said 30 energy facilities were damaged, leaving at least 600,000 people without electricity. He described the attack as a deliberate show of contempt for United States-led peace efforts. Russia said it struck power plants and other targets in and around Kyiv and Kharkiv. Ukraine said it intercepted four of 39 missiles, highlighting pressure on its air-defence systems amid weapons shortages.
