Tinubu’s Lawyer Asks Court to Dismiss Atiku’s NYSC Certificate Forgery Suit
Former Attorney-General of the Federation Akin Olujinmi, representing President Bola Tinubu, has asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to dismiss Atiku Abubakar and the African Democratic Congress’s suit over an alleged forged NYSC discharge certificate. Olujinmi argued that the allegation is speculative because the claimants did not present evidence from the NYSC denying that it issued the certificate. He also said forgery is a criminal allegation that must be proved beyond reasonable doubt. The defence further argued that Atiku lacks the legal standing to challenge the APC’s nomination process and that parts of the case were filed outside the legally allowed timeframe. The court is scheduled to hear the matter on September 28.
