Kogi Police Commissioner Urges Youths to Reject Political and Digital Thuggery

The Kogi State Police Command marked International Youth Day in Lokoja with a call for young people to reject political violence, online abuse, misinformation and other criminal activities. Commissioner of Police Naziru Bello Kankarofi said no political ambition or online influence is worth sacrificing a young person’s life, freedom or future. He urged youths to use their energy and digital skills to promote peace, security and development. The police chief said the command would strengthen engagement with youth groups, students, religious bodies and civil society organisations. He also warned against allowing political actors or criminal elements to recruit youths for electoral violence as future elections approach.
