Ondo Police Arrest Man Over Alleged Killing of His Mother in Ore

Police in Ondo State have arrested Samuel Akoade over the alleged killing of his mother, Olufunke Akoade, in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area. The incident was reported on August 16, 2026. Police said the woman was found dead at her residence with deep machete wounds. A machete suspected to have been used in the attack was recovered from the scene. The suspect reportedly fled before officers arrived but was later arrested. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Akure, while the victim's body has been deposited in a mortuary for further examination.
