Police Report Arrests, Recoveries and Bandit Raids Across Several States
The Nigeria Police Force says its commands recorded arrests and recoveries in several states during operations on 8 October. In Kaduna, police, local residents and the JTF reportedly repelled bandit attacks, recovered an AK-47 rifle, ammunition and rustled cattle, and neutralised one suspect. Officers also responded to an attack on commuters along the Kir Yoyi-Dangani Road, where another suspected bandit was killed. Police in Nasarawa arrested suspects allegedly linked to the rustling of about 900 cattle in Kaduna. Other operations led to arrests over an armed robbery case in Enugu, a suspected murder in Oyo, an alleged stabbing in Nasarawa, an assault in Delta and police impersonation in Ogun. The police said investigations are continuing in the affected cases.
