Amanuke Youth Summit Tackles Drug Abuse, Cybercrime and Rural Development Needs
Parents, professionals and community leaders at the maiden Amanuke Youth Summit in Awka North, Anambra State, called for stronger mentorship to tackle drug abuse, cybercrime, violence and the declining values among young people. Speakers urged youths to embrace skills acquisition, hard work, technology, agribusiness and self-development rather than seeking quick wealth. The summit drew more than 600 participants and featured presentations from the police, DSS, NDLEA and NSCDC. Community leaders also appealed to the Anambra State Government to improve access roads and provide more teachers, saying poor roads prevent farmers from moving produce to markets. The NSCDC encouraged residents to protect public facilities and provide credible information to security agencies.
