Rosneft Says Ukraine’s Refinery Strikes Are Becoming Unsustainable
Russia’s state-controlled oil company Rosneft says repeated Ukrainian drone strikes on refineries are placing growing pressure on the country’s fuel system. The attacks have disrupted refining operations, raised repair and air-defence costs, tightened fuel supplies and added pressure to domestic fuel prices. Damage to refineries could also affect export revenue and Russia’s ability to fund its wartime economy. For Ukraine, the strikes demonstrate an expanding ability to reach targets deep inside Russia. However, claims about Russia’s crude-oil output and the full scale of refinery losses require independent verification.
