Ondo Police Nab Three in Assault and Abduction Attempts on Traffic Wardens
Ondo State Police Command has arrested three suspects linked to two separate attacks on traffic wardens in Akure. On April 3, driver Olopade Abraham and passenger Emmanuel Taiwo allegedly ran a red light at Cathedral Junction. When Senior Traffic Warden Oliniju Kehinde directed them to the station, they sped off with her inside the vehicle. A patrol team from Fanibi Division later intercepted them on Ondo Road and rescued the officer unharmed. Two days later at the Oba-Ile axis, a police patrol stopped a vehicle driving against traffic. Mrs. Adeyanju and her husband—who remains at large—resisted arrest and assaulted officers. Mrs. Adeyanju was detained, has made useful statements, and all arrested suspects have now been charged in court. Police continue the manhunt for the fleeing accomplice.
