Anambra Police Arrest 57 Suspects, Recover 18 Firearms in One Month
The Anambra State Police Command says it rescued three kidnap victims and arrested 57 suspects over alleged kidnapping, armed robbery, cult-related violence, murder and other serious offences within the past month. Police said 18 assorted firearms and 43 rounds of ammunition were recovered during intelligence-led operations. A criminal camp was also destroyed as part of efforts to disrupt organised crime in the state. Commissioner of Police Nnanna Oji credited the results to coordinated intelligence gathering, tactical deployments and cooperation with other security agencies. During a visit to the command, AIG Miller Gajere Dantawye urged officers to sustain lawful, professional operations and strengthen community engagement.
