Bauchi Police Arrest 70-Year-Old Over Alleged Sexual Assault of 8-Year-Old Girl
The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 70-year-old man over the alleged sexual assault of an eight-year-old girl in the Tsakanin Bayara area of Bauchi metropolis. Police said the girl’s father reported the case at E Division, Yelwa, on 26 August. He alleged that the suspect lured the child to an uncompleted building, where the assault occurred. The suspect was arrested and allegedly confessed during questioning, according to the command. The child was taken to a police clinic for medical examination and care. Police said the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution.
