Reports: Co-Pilot and Passengers Stop Alleged Attack on Dubai–Tel Aviv Flight
Reports say flydubai co-pilot Smit Machchhar was seriously injured after an alleged attack in the cockpit of a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv. The aircraft reportedly dropped sharply before making an emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. Machchhar allegedly released the cockpit door mechanism, allowing passengers, off-duty crew and relief pilots to intervene. They reportedly restrained the attacker and helped regain control of the aircraft. A plumber, a dentist and other passengers were credited with assisting during the emergency. The dentist reportedly gave first aid to the injured co-pilot before the aircraft landed safely.
