Ogun APC Aspirant Hunye Says Only Tinubu Can Resolve Dispute With Him
Ogun governorship aspirant Abayomi Semako Hunye says he will only consider a reconciliation process initiated by President Bola Tinubu as tensions deepen within the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress ahead of 2027. Hunye said party leaders had repeatedly asked him to step down in the past, adding that he would listen to Tinubu because he considers the President the party’s national leader. He maintained that any intervention by Tinubu would be fair to him. The aspirant also denied claims that he had sought money in exchange for his political mandate. He expressed confidence that agitation for Ogun West to produce the next governor, alongside his claimed popularity across the state, would strengthen his chances. He urged his supporters to remain peaceful and said he would respect the eventual outcome of the court case connected to the dispute.
