Nigerian Man Arrested Naked Over £4M Crypto Scam
Police in Watford surprised 25-year-old Kevin Nwamma lying naked in bed during a raid on November 20. Footage shows officers handcuffing him as part of a three-man gang linked to a £4 million cryptocurrency fraud. The group targeted eight victims between January and July last year. They posed as police officers and created fake websites to trick people into handing over access to their crypto accounts. The gang spent their loot on luxury cars, designer brands and holiday trips to destinations like Thailand, Paris and the Seychelles. At Southwark Crown Court, Nwamma was sentenced to six years for conspiracy to commit fraud and five years for money laundering, to run concurrently. His accomplices received prison terms of three years nine months and six years respectively. Authorities seized 40 mobile phones and recovered around £1 million during the investigation.
