Christian Mother and Daughter Killed in Gaza City Airstrike
A Christian mother, Maysa Khader Ibrahim Abu Daoud, and her daughter, Mary Hafez Michel Najjar, were killed when an airstrike hit their home in Gaza City on the night of 2 October. Palestinian health and civil defence officials said at least five people, including four women, were killed in the attack. Residents searched the rubble after the apartment building was destroyed and set ablaze. The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem confirmed the women’s identities and expressed condolences to their family and Gaza’s small Christian community. Their funeral was scheduled to hold at St. Porphyrius Church, which has also served as a refuge for displaced civilians during the war.
