Lagos Fashion Week 2026: Trends We Expect to Dominate the SS27 Runway
Lagos Fashion Week 2026 is almost here, and I’m looking forward to seeing how Nigerian designers interpret the SS27 season. This year’s “CRAFTED” theme points to a runway celebration of heritage, innovation and circular fashion. I expect heritage textiles such as aso oke, Ankara, adire and akwụete to return in contemporary silhouettes. Streetwear should also have a strong presence, alongside fluid gowns, asymmetric cuts, bubble details, fringe and dramatic structured pieces. Sustainability may be one of the biggest talking points. Upcycled fabrics, patchwork, tactile textures and other craft-led techniques are likely to feature as designers explore more circular approaches to fashion. Beading, jewel embellishments and bold avant-garde styling could complete the season’s most memorable looks. Nigerian fashion has never lacked confidence or craftsmanship, and this runway is set to show both in full force.
