Kano NDC Threatens Court Action Over Gwarzo’s Exclusion From 2027 Governorship List
The Kano State chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress says it may take the Independent National Electoral Commission to court over the exclusion of its governorship candidate, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, from the final list for the 2027 election. State chairman Husseini Mairiga said the party had not received a response after submitting a complaint before the October 24 deadline set for affected parties. He said he would visit Abuja to seek clarification from INEC. Mairiga maintained that Gwarzo is a registered member of the party and is eligible to contest. INEC has cited compliance with party membership and nomination requirements in the exclusion of some candidates, including contenders in Gombe and Ogun states.
