INEC, Political Parties Meet on Women’s Participation Ahead of 2027 Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission held an engagement with political parties in Abuja on September 9, 2026, to discuss ways of improving women’s participation ahead of the 2027 general election. The meeting brought together party representatives and other electoral stakeholders to identify barriers facing women in politics and consider practical measures to improve inclusion and representation. The PDP National Woman Leader, Prof. Adenike Ogunshe, attended the engagement on behalf of the party.
