Abu Dhabi Royal by Marriage Fined in London Child Neglect Case
Mahrah Al Nahyan, who is connected to Abu Dhabi’s royal family by marriage, has been sentenced in London after admitting child neglect. A court heard that she was found unconscious near a busy road while a three-year-old child in her care was barefoot and unattended nearby. Members of the public intervened after the child reportedly moved close to traffic. The court was told that Al Nahyan had used cocaine in the days before the incident and later entered addiction treatment. She received a two-year community order, a rehabilitation requirement, a £5,000 fine and an order to pay £1,000 in legal costs.
