Fake Agency Scandal: ICPC Recommends Action Against 13 Officials, Prosecution of Alleged PFIPC Boss
The ICPC has recommended disciplinary action against 13 public officials over their alleged roles in helping the illegal Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) gain access to government offices, financial systems and other official privileges. The commission also recommended the prosecution of Adeniyi Adeyemi, who allegedly presented himself as the agency’s director-general. Investigators said the PFIPC was not created by any law, executive order or other valid government instrument. According to the report, officials processed requests for office space, self-accounting status and bank accounts without independently confirming the agency’s legal status. The ICPC also called for further investigation of officials in the ministries of Foreign Affairs and Finance, as well as bank personnel linked to accounts opened for the organisation. The probe uncovered another suspected fake government agency allegedly operating from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, raising wider concerns about document verification and oversight across the federal bureaucracy.
