Five Clerics Reportedly Abducted After Tinubu Re-election Prayer in Zamfara

Five Islamic clerics were reportedly abducted by suspected terrorists after attending a special prayer gathering for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election in Talata Mafara, Zamfara State. The gathering was held at the residence of Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, a former governor of Zamfara. About 1,000 Islamic scholars were reportedly present at the event before the clerics were abducted on Saturday, September 12. The victims were said to have travelled from communities in Bakura and Talata Mafara LGAs. Their whereabouts and the identity of the abductors remain unknown, while police and other security agencies have yet to issue an official statement.
