FBI Arrests Minnesota Teen Accused of Plotting Mall of America Attack
The FBI says it arrested 18-year-old Sheikdoon Mohamud over an alleged plan to carry out a mass shooting at the Mall of America in Minnesota. Court documents allege that he discussed the plan for months with an FBI source and selected the date because a Hmong arts event was expected to draw a large crowd. He allegedly bought an AK-style rifle, four magazines and about 200 rounds of ammunition from an undercover agent. Authorities said Mohamud was charged with purchasing a firearm and ammunition to support terrorism. The alleged plot was disrupted before anyone was harmed.
