Troops Foil Boko Haram Ambush in Borno, Recover RPG Bombs and Ammunition
Troops of the 27 Task Force Brigade under Operation Hadin Kai have foiled an ambush by suspected Boko Haram fighters along the Buni Gari–Buratai road in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State. The troops reportedly encountered the insurgents during a routine patrol on Monday, September 7, and forced them to retreat. Reinforcements later cleared the area and searched nearby locations. The military said troops dismantled makeshift camps believed to be used as temporary hideouts. Recovered items included RPG bombs, ammunition, a magazine, a motorcycle and bicycles. No soldier was reported killed or injured, although some military vehicles were damaged.
