Edo LG Chairman Redeems ₦20m Pledge to Family of Fallen Soldier
Etsako East Local Government Chairman Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson has fulfilled a ₦20 million pledge to the family of late Lance Corporal Fahad Sani of the Nigerian Army’s 195 Battalion in Agenebode. Sani died on July 2, 2026, after a trailer reportedly struck the vehicle conveying soldiers returning from a rescue operation for kidnapped victims in Okpella. He is survived by his wife and two young children. At the presentation on September 17, Ekpeson said part of the funds would help the soldier’s wife establish a sustainable business. ₦10 million will also be kept in a fixed deposit to support the children’s education and future needs. The battalion said the support would encourage serving personnel and show that the sacrifices of fallen soldiers are remembered.
