Army Recovers ISWAP Video Featuring Palestinian Trainer and Moroccan Doctor

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai foiled an ISWAP infiltration attempt in Cross Kauwa, Kukawa LGA, Borno State, on July 11, 2026. The Nigerian Army engaged insurgents who tried to breach their position under cover of darkness to steal cholera medical supplies. In the ensuing firefight, soldiers neutralised an ISWAP cameraman and seized a Sony camcorder. Forensic review of the footage revealed three foreign facilitators: a Palestinian known as Abu Ishaq serving as the group’s trainer, a Moroccan doctor identified as Abu Thaiba, and an unidentified Arab operative. The successful defence inflicted heavy casualties on the attackers, forced them into retreat, and led to the recovery of ammunition, uniforms and combat gear. Two soldiers were wounded and air-evacuated for treatment, both now stable. The Army says this operation underscores ongoing efforts to deny terrorist groups freedom of action and dismantle their networks across the North-East.
