Court Rules DSS Director-General Need Not Testify in Sowore Cyberbullying Trial
A Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed Omoyele Sowore’s request to compel DSS Director-General Oluwatosin Ajayi to personally testify in his alleged cyberbullying trial involving President Bola Tinubu. Justice Mohammed Garba Umar held that the subpoena concerned official DSS actions and that the Director-General’s testimony was not personally required. The court ruled that another authorised DSS official could give evidence for the agency. Following the ruling, Sowore’s lawyer called DSS investigating officer Michael Jego as the third defence witness. The decision follows earlier unsuccessful applications by Sowore challenging aspects of the trial.
