Keyamo’s Blurry Airport CCTV Footage Exposes Security Gaps

Keyamo’s Blurry Airport CCTV Footage Exposes Security Gaps

Good morning, Nigerians. I am worried that the CCTV video released by Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo fails to show clear faces or license plates. This footage raises serious questions about our ability to identify terrorists, track criminals, or investigate security incidents. Despite billions of naira spent in the aviation sector, this is the best evidence presented for high-profile allegations. CCTV should offer objective proof, not require long explanations to tell viewers what they must see. I cannot confidently say this is Mr. Peter Obi or anyone else. This shortfall echoes past controversies over INEC data leaks and the mysterious ‘invisible ministry’ in the budget. When our institutions falter on basic security measures, Nigerians deserve transparent answers. Investigations should rest on clear, independently verifiable evidence, not speculation.

How can we trust airport security when Keyamo's CCTV footage can't reveal clear faces or plate numbers?

True, that footage really raises questions about how thorough our airport checks are.

The footage really looks too pixelated to be of any investigative use against criminals or terrorists.

Focusing only on blurry images might overlook other security upgrades that aren't getting enough attention right now.

Perhaps investing in higher-resolution cameras and regular maintenance schedules could improve facial recognition and plate tracking.
