The Kwara State Police Command has arrested three suspected members of the Eiye Confraternity for the abduction and killing of 29-year-old Kwara State Polytechnic student Sodiq Durodola Olaniyi. Police say the Violent Crime Response Unit, acting on credible intelligence, raided cult hideouts across Ilorin on June 29, 2026. Officers detained Adeoye Babatunde (23, alias “Solar”), Bernard Kayode (25, “KK”) and Owoyemi Bashiru (27, “GDP”). During interrogation, each confessed to a role in the victim’s abduction and execution following his disappearance on June 4. Investigators reveal the network comprises at least twelve members, nine of whom remain at large. Efforts continue to recover the student’s body, dismantle the gang and prosecute all individuals involved according to the law.
