Why Is the Ezza Royal Crown Still Listed as ‘Unknown Tribe’ Despite Its 1909 Record?

I am reviewing historical records connected to the Ezza Royal Crown, catalogue number AF1978.12.1. The object is believed to have been taken around 1905–1909, yet its record reportedly identifies only “Nigeria”, without naming the kingdom, artist or exact date. Older materials are often documented in far greater detail. A 1639 Marseille tarot deck identifies its maker, Philippe Vachier. World War I medal rolls preserved soldiers’ names, regiments and record offices, while drafts of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights recorded how each article was developed. This gap in documentation is why we began the Ezza South Kingdom Repatriation Movement. If you have colonial reports, missionary records, old books or archives that mention Ezza, Ezekuna, Afikpo or Abakaliki, please share relevant details. History deserves accurate names and proper recognition.
