Rivers First Movement DG Maobuye Obu Resigns, Leaves ADC
Maobuye Nangi Obu has resigned as pioneer Director-General of the Rivers First Movement (RFM) and withdrawn his membership from the African Democratic Congress (ADC). In his resignation letter, Obu said he made efforts to keep the movement aligned with its founding ideals but concluded that those efforts had failed. He described the decision as difficult and taken after consultations. Obu said he remains committed to good governance, democratic values, youth participation and responsible leadership in Rivers State. He added that he would seek other platforms to contribute to the state's political and socio-economic development.
