Man Says Family Took Him to Alfa’s Centre After Dispute Over House He Funded
Bayo Salami, a Nigerian man living abroad, says he returned to Nigeria to inspect a family house he had been sending money to build. He claims his relatives told him it was still under development and later took him to a religious centre for prayers. Salami alleges that, after arriving at the centre, he was pushed into a room with other people and has remained there for 17 days. He says some of the people he encountered had been at the facility for months, and that he was taken there because he smokes cigarettes. His account has not been independently verified. The family’s explanation, the cleric’s response and the circumstances of Salami’s stay at the centre are not established.
