Zulum Says North Will Back Tinubu’s Second Term, Expects Power to Return Afterwards

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum says Northern leaders have agreed to support President Bola Tinubu for a second term, with the expectation that the presidency would return to the North after the South completes its tenure. Speaking in Kaduna after meeting women Islamic scholars and clerics from Northern Nigeria, Zulum said the arrangement was intended to preserve unity and peaceful coexistence between the North and South. He said Northern leaders had also discussed insecurity, poverty and out-of-school children. Zulum urged Nigerians to support efforts to address these problems and called on women to promote peace and responsible political engagement in their communities.
