Dominican Republic Wins Miss World 2026 as Nigeria’s Soye Finishes in Top 12
Joheirry Mola Dominguez of the Dominican Republic has been crowned Miss World 2026 at the 73rd edition of the pageant in Nha Trang, Vietnam. Spain’s Elisabeth Reynés Alabern finished as first runner-up, while Malaysia’s Taanusiya Chetty took second place and won the Beauty with a Purpose award. Nigeria’s Tamunosoye Karibi-George, known as Soye, reached the Top 12 after earning an automatic Top 40 spot by winning the Africa Top Model title. She later progressed through the Top 20 before missing out on the final six. Soye represented Nigeria with cultural outfits including the “Amazon of the Mangrove” costume and a green-white-green evening gown. The Port Harcourt-born communications professional also used the platform to promote Beyond Labels, her initiative supporting children with disabilities and neurodivergent individuals. The pageant featured 111 contestants, while Tanzania is scheduled to host the next edition in 2027.
