Ondo Amotekun Operatives Raise Questions Over Enlistment Letters and Alleged Salary Shortfalls

Ondo Amotekun Operatives Raise Questions Over Enlistment Letters and Alleged Salary Shortfalls — 1 of 3
1 / 3

I am raising concerns over the use of warrants of enlistment rather than clear appointment and confirmation letters for Ondo State Amotekun Corps operatives. The document shown states a monthly salary of ₦100,000, alongside allowances and benefits, but some operatives allege they receive between ₦30,000 and ₦40,000. After reviewing the letter, I observed that it does not state an entry grade level, career progression structure, retirement age or length of service. These omissions have raised questions about job security, ranks and conditions of service for operatives. I also believe the state government and Amotekun leadership should clarify the alleged salary shortfalls, the status of staff appointments and the rules guiding the corps. With discussions around state policing continuing, Ondo State needs a transparent and properly structured security workforce.

What explanation has been given for using enlistment warrants instead of clear appointment and confirmation letters?

I agree; the difference in documentation deserves a clear public explanation, especially where workers' terms and pay are being questioned.

The gap between the stated ₦100,000 salary and alleged shortfalls is bound to unsettle affected operatives.

The document may raise valid concerns, but allegations of shortfalls still need clear records and responses.

Officials should publish a simple breakdown of salary, allowances, benefits, and the status attached to each enlistment letter.
