Babachir Lawal Alleges Adamawa NDC Aspirant Led Protest Against His Appointment
NDC chieftain Babachir Lawal has alleged that a female aspirant for the party’s Adamawa governorship ticket organised opposition to his appointment as the party’s leader in the North-East and North-Central. Lawal said the protest was reportedly linked to a statement attributed to six NDC governorship candidates from the North-East. He added that the party’s candidates in Gombe and Taraba had contacted him to distance themselves from it, claiming their names and signatures were used without their consent. The statement did not mention Atiku Abubakar or allege that the Adamawa aspirant was supporting his presidential ambition.
