Wike Says He Has ‘Killed’ Obi’s Political Wave Ahead of 2027
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike says the political wave that propelled Peter Obi to prominence in the 2023 presidential election has faded. He made the remarks during a media chat in Port Harcourt on Thursday and said he doubts Obi’s chances in 2027. Wike challenged Obi to show that he still has the financial and grassroots support he had during the last election. He also questioned Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s influence beyond Kano and criticised former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s record in office. Wike described Obi as a “dramatist” and said Nigerians had not seen the results they expected from Atiku. These were Wike’s assessments of the opposition figures and their political prospects.
