Tinubu Says 4.43% Q2 GDP Growth Shows Economy Is Stabilising
President Bola Tinubu has welcomed National Bureau of Statistics data showing that Nigeria’s GDP grew by 4.43% in the second quarter of 2026, compared with 4.23% in the same period of 2025. The figures showed growth across agriculture, manufacturing, oil and gas, and services. Nominal GDP rose to ₦119.27 trillion, an 18.43% increase from ₦100.7 trillion a year earlier. Tinubu said his administration’s economic reforms were beginning to deliver results, citing trade surpluses, stronger foreign reserves, improved credit ratings and rising oil production. He said the government would continue food-production, transport and relief measures to ensure households feel the benefits of growth.
