Imo Court Sentences POS Operator to Death Over Kidnapping and Murder of Two Men
An Imo State High Court in the Urualla judicial division has sentenced 28-year-old POS operator Isaac Okorie to death by hanging over the kidnapping and murder of Chief Alexander Chukwuma Okoli, 83, and his driver, Daniel Sarki. The court found Okorie guilty of conspiracy, kidnapping and murder after prosecutors presented evidence linking him to the abduction of the two victims for ransom. The victims were later killed, while their bodies were reportedly not recovered. The family said the judgment offers some comfort but does not erase the pain of losing their relatives. They also called for the arrest and prosecution of other suspects said to be linked to the case.
