INEC Says Ondo PVCs Are Not Missing, Explains Collection Delay
INEC has dismissed claims that Permanent Voter Cards are missing in Iwaro-Oka, Akoko South-West LGA of Ondo State. The commission said the number of cards received for the affected polling unit matches its records. The allegation followed a call by an opposition candidate for an investigation into reportedly unavailable PVCs. INEC explained that only cards for transferred registrants and those who enrolled during the first phase of the Continuous Voter Registration are currently ready for collection. It said names from later registration phases may appear on the voter register even though their cards have not yet been produced or delivered. INEC urged residents to collect available cards at their local government offices and to contact its offices for clarification.
