Soldier and Hunter Killed in Ogun Dredging Site Attack as Police Rescue Kidnap Victim
Ogun State Police Command rescued one of four people abducted at a private dredging site in Magbon Etido, Mowe. Security operatives, alongside military personnel, launched a coordinated search-and-rescue operation after the attackers invaded the site. A soldier on duty was killed and another wounded during the attack. A local hunter who joined the bush-combing exercise also died in a clash with the fleeing criminals. The remains of the three other abducted victims were recovered. Security forces neutralised one suspect, and efforts are ongoing to track down the rest of the gang. Police clarified that this was an isolated criminal incident, not linked to banditry, and assured residents that security has been reinforced to prevent further breaches.
