Prince Harry has stepped down from the board of African Parks, a conservation charity facing allegations of human rights abuses by rangers in Congo-Brazzaville. An independent investigation examined claims that Indigenous people in and around Odzala-Kokoua National Park were beaten, raped and tortured by guards managed and paid by the organisation. African Parks later acknowledged that abuses had occurred and said it had strengthened its safeguarding measures. Harry served as the charity's president for six years before joining its board in 2023. His spokesperson said he remains committed to African conservation and continues to support African Parks.
