Four Plead Not Guilty to Alleged Kidnapping and Killing of DSS Officer

Four men have been arraigned at the Federal High Court in Abuja over the alleged kidnapping and killing of DSS officer Ekpeyong Asuquo Owoh. The DSS accused Michael Okafor, Chinedu Chukwudozie, Chibunna Olisa and Chigozie Olisa of terrorism-related offences, kidnapping, membership of the proscribed IPOB and ESN, and unlawful possession of firearms. Prosecutors alleged that Owoh was abducted while travelling from Port Harcourt to Awka and later died in captivity. All four defendants pleaded not guilty. The court remanded them in DSS custody and fixed October 6 for the start of trial, when the prosecution is expected to call three witnesses.
