Russian Strike on Ukraine Aid Hub Leaves 40 Dead and 59 Missing
A Russian strike hit an underground school being used as an aid distribution centre and shelter in Komyshuvakha, in Ukraine’s southeastern Zaporizhzhia region. Ukrainian officials say 40 people have died and 59 remain missing as rescue teams continue searching the site. The attack reportedly involved two strikes as residents gathered to collect assistance. Two rescue workers and four police officers are among the dead, according to emergency services. Russia’s Defence Ministry said the strike targeted Ukrainian military units in the area, while both sides deny deliberately targeting civilians. The attack comes after a brief ceasefire ended. Talks involving Ukrainian and Russian delegations are expected in Abu Dhabi, according to the report.
