160 Days After: Why Are the Abducted Borno Children Still Missing?
I cannot understand why children abducted from Mussa in Askira-Uba, Borno State, on May 15, 2026, are reportedly still in captivity about 160 days later. On the same day, pupils were also abducted in Oriire, Oyo State, but they have since been rescued and reunited with their families. I question whether the same urgency, coordination and security resources deployed in Oyo were applied in Borno. The contrast has deepened public concern that the abducted Borno children and their families have been neglected. This is also a test for the Federal Government and Vice President Kashim Shettima, who is from Borno State. The children must be rescued, their families supported, and clear information provided on the efforts being made to bring them home safely.
