ASTUC Youth Denies Authorising Use of Its Name in Anambra NYCN Leadership Claim
ASTUC Youth says it did not authorise Barr. Nonso Henry Nwaebili, or any NYCN faction, to represent the organisation or use its name to support a leadership claim within the Anambra State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria. The group said its 2023 bye-law establishes independent community, local government and zonal structures across Anambra State. It added that any formal affiliation with another youth body must be backed by a valid resolution, admission letter or other documentary authority. ASTUC Youth has demanded a public retraction, clarification and apology within 48 hours. It says it will notify its community youth leaders, relevant government institutions and NYCN authorities, and may take lawful steps if the demand is not met. The organisation said it is not taking a position on the NYCN leadership dispute, but is objecting to the alleged unauthorised use of its institutional identity.
