Kaduna Government Denies ₦2.3tn APC Campaign Funding Letter, Alleges Forgery
The Kaduna State Government has denied approving or releasing ₦2.3 trillion for an APC presidential campaign rally, describing a viral letter making the claim as forged. The government said the document, dated October 18, 2026, contained errors including a misspelling of Governor Uba Sani’s surname and an unauthorised version of his signature. It said no such expenditure was budgeted, approved or paid. Information Commissioner Ahmed Maiyaki noted that Kaduna State’s 2026 budget is ₦985.92 billion, far below the amount claimed in the letter. He said officials are working to trace its origin and urged security agencies to investigate those responsible for circulating it.
